Lara Spencer of Good Morning America fame and her husband David Haffenreffer are calling it quits after 15 years of marriage. Their road to divorce is said to be an amicable one.
“After a lot of thought, care and consideration, we have decided to end our marriage,” the couple said in a statement to Page Six. “It’s a sad decision that did not come easily, especially because we respect and love each other and our children. They remain our top priority. We will raise them and care for them together.”
David Haffenreffer and Lara Spencer are clearly people of their word, as they are reportedly out of town on vacation with children Duff and Kate this weekend.
It was back in 2000 when Lara Spencer married David Haffenreffer. The two tied the knot in Southampton. She was a contributor for GMA at the time, as well as a reporter for WABC-TV. Haffenreffer was a contributor to a morning show on CNN.

David Haffenreffer now works as a broker at Houlihan Lawrence in Greenwich. Lara Spencer has renovated a number of homes, including a 1960s-era spread she and Haffenreffer shared in Beverly Hills, as well as her Manhattan studio.
Spencer has also turned her love of flea-market shopping into several books. She hosted Antiques Roadshow and created shows for HGTV, including Flea Market Flip and I Brake for Yard Sales.
It was last April when Lara Spencer was named cohost of Good Morning America. Prior to that she served as lifestyle anchor for the morning show. Before that she served as host of The Insider.
It’s hard for everyone when a divorce tears a family apart–even in the most amicable of situations. Hopefully Lara Spencer and David Haffenreffer continue to put their children first in this situation, and help them through what will no doubt be a very difficult time.
