Kyron Horman was just seven years old when he disappeared from Skyline Elementary School in Portland, Oregon nearly five years ago. His disappearance made news all around the country on June 4, 2010, as search crews hunted for any sign of the little boy.

Now, as the five-year anniversary of Kyron Horman’s disappearance nears, a $50,000 reward for information about his disappearance is being highlighted, on the chance someone can help solve the mystery.

Kyron’s biological parents, Kaine Horman and Desiree Young, have long believed their son’s then-stepmother, Terri Horman, is responsible for Kyron Horman’s disappearance. Terri Horman failed three polygraph tests when questioned by investigators years ago.

“They’re not going to prosecute Terri until they find Kyron. And that’s why it’s my mission. I am going to find answers. I am going to find Kyron if I have to do it myself,” Desiree Young said in an interview a year ago.

Kyron Horman’s father was granted a restraining order against Terri Horman shortly after Kyron disappeared, and he subsequently filed for divorce. That divorce was final in 2013. Six months later, Kaine Horman was granted full custody of his daughter with Terri Horman.

In the years since Kyron Horman disappeared, more than 4,000 tips from around the world have been received by the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office in Portland, Oregon. On Thursday of this week the department issued a statement regarding the upcoming 5-year anniversary of Kyron’s disappearance.

“The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office and our agency partners in this investigation remain committed to solving this crime, and bringing Kyron home,” the statement reads.

The sheriff’s office has added word of the $50,000 reward issued in the Kyron Horman case to the official missing child flier in hopes of generating any new leads in the case.
