Kris Jenner is finally making it official. She has filed for divorce from Bruce Jenner–her husband of twenty-three years. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians ‘momager’ filed papers on Monday in L.A. She cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
While no one should be all too surprised to learn of Kris Jenner’s filing, it likely makes fans wonder what catalyst finally drove her to set the divorce ball into motion. The troubles between the two have been no secret, and sadly have even played out in front of the Keeping Up With the Kardashians cameras for all the world to see.
Kris Jenner was previously married to attorney Robert Kardashian–whose claim to fame was the infamous O.J. Simpson trial. She and Kardashian divorced back in 1991. They shared four daughters–Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, and Khloe Kardashian–and one son, Rob Kardashian. Kris and Bruce Jenner added two daughters to the mix–Kylie and Kendall Jenner.
CBS reports that court papers state Bruce and Kris Jenner officially separated on June 1st. According to celebrity news sites and even the family’s reality show, they have been living apart for much longer than that.

CNN says the couple publicly recognized their separation last year.
“We will always have much love and respect for each other,” Bruce and Kris Jenner said in a joint statement. “Even though we are separated, we will always remain best friends and, as always, our family will remain our No. 1 priority.”
Bruce Jenner is living in the couple’s Malibu home, while Kris Jenner resides with Kendall and Kylie Jenner in their Calabasas abode. It will definitely be interesting to see what–if any–changes ensue in the coming days and weeks–following the announcement that Kris has filed for divorce.
