Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick are reportedly keeping their children–Reign, Penelope, and Mason Disick–away from their grandfather Bruce Jenner.

Why?

They haven’t yet talked with them–Mason Disick, really, because the other two are babies–about Grandpa transitioning into a woman.

“Honestly, Kourtney and Scott are not ready to tell Mason and they do not know when the time is right that they even want to talk to him about it. Penelope and Reign are still babies and will be much easier to get to,” a source tells Radar Online.

“How do you tell a five-year-old that their grandfather is going to be their grandmother? Mason asks a lot of questions and he is super curious about what is going on,” the source adds, “but Kourtney and Scott have no idea how to approach this with him.”

“In the meantime, they are not allowing their kids to be around Bruce because it is just too confusing to them.”

Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick have surely known about Bruce Jenner’s impending transition for months. They certainly could have enlisted the help of a trusted family doctor to help them explain what is happening to Mason. Or they could have found a good child therapist to help explain what is happening with Grandpa.

The fact that they haven’t yet dealt with this huge change taking place inside their own family is almost neglectful on Kourtney Kardashian’s part. Mason Disick’s relationship with his grandfather is at stake, and should be protected for the whole family’s sake.

On Monday night’s episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kourtney Kardashian touched upon the subject.

“We are waiting to see what Bruce does before we tell Mason. I definitely don’t want him to find out, y’know, through someone at school or something like that. I want him to find out through us,” she said.

Kids are smart. Mason Disick stands a strong chance of hearing about Bruce Jenner from a child at school. Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick need to stop procrastinating and deal with this subject before it becomes far more difficult than it is already.
