Kourtney Kardashian has three kids. Her youngest, son Reign, was born into a tabloid superstorm of attention. While her sister Kim Kardashian is also a mother, Kourtney Kardashian seems to have a reputation of being the full-time mom of the bunch.
Recently, a couple of other celebrities have spoken out about a trend among celebs. That is the trend of expecting new celeb moms to shed their baby weight very quickly. It seems to be a bit of a bragging rights issue to see who can bounce back from having a baby and be seen as having come through the experience without any alteration.
Zooey Deschanel spoke about her choice to not participate in that.
“Haven’t we all seen those pictures of a sexy new mom in a bikini after one month? I will not be that person. I’ve always gone my own course and never been someone who had the need to be super skinny. I like a healthy look. I don’t buy into that skinny-is-better mentality. I just eat healthy and work out and don’t worry about my weight too much. Actresses aren’t models, and most of them never wanted to be.”
Drew Barrymore also said she isn’t worried about getting back to her pre-baby weight too soon.
“I think it’s crazy to worry about that. It takes nine months to build, it takes nine months to unbuild, at best,” she says. “We just have to take pressures off. They’re so silly and ridiculous. It took a year and I’m not even there, but it’s fine. I’m so okay with that.”
And despite her sister’s preoccupation with waist-shaping methods, Kourtney Kardashian is also looking for a more balanced approach to getting back in shape.
“I like to take my time and not try to put too much pressure on myself, but it’s hard. I think I forget every time — you give birth and you want your stomach to be flat again. It does take a lot of work, but I usually start slowly by going on walks with the baby…but now I’m in full force,” she added. “I’ve been working out with a trainer, and having somebody else to work out with really helps motivate me…I also try to eat really clean and at home as much as I can.”
