If you keep up with the soccer world (at least the American leagues), I am sure you know of Kirk Urso, a talented soccer player from Downers Grove, Illinois.
During his college years, Urso played soccer for the University of Carolina, and in 2011, was an NSCAA All-South Region First Team selection.
After graduating from UNC, the Columbus Crew (an American professional soccer club based in Columbus, Ohio which competes in Major League Soccer) selected Urso and signed him to their team on March 1st, 2012. Urso also received the chance to play internationally, representing the United States in the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
Unfortunately, Kirk Urso died on August 5th, 2012, in Colombus, OH at age 22. The cause for Urso’s death has not been released. Various fans of Urso have been leaving their respects on Twitter (shown below).
