Actress Kim Fields received an early Christmas present, but she’s known about this gift for many months now. Nine to be exact.
The Facts of Life and Living Single alum gave birth to her second son, Quincy Xavier, with husband, Broadway actor Christopher Morgan on Tuesday.
The happy couple said, “We are so blessed and grateful to God for this newest gift to our family.”
While visiting the talk show, The Real, in July, Fields announced she and her husband were expecting. At the time she said, “We’re very, very blessed. It was planned. We’ve actually been trying for a couple years. We had gotten pregnant twice and [miscarried]. Chris and I were very blessed to really have one another, to have our family and friends and our God to really get us through that.”
Being pregnant wasn’t her first thought when she started feeling sick. “Funny enough, for a minute I thought I was getting pre-menopausal because certain things were starting to be irregular and then other symptoms started — my memory and I was clumsier than normal which I couldn’t even believe was possible,” she explained. “Then our son got sick with a stomach virus and I caught it. Chris said, ‘No, babe, you’re a little sicker than Sebastian. You need to go and get that checked out’ and I said, ‘Okay.’ So I went and they tested me and said, ‘Oh honey, you’re not dehydrated. You’re two months pregnant,'” said Fields.
At age 44, the actress doesn’t want people to see her as the poster-child for getting pregnant and giving birth over 40. Said Fields, “If I’m encouraging to anybody — it’s not like I’m the poster child for over 40 and pregnant.”
A day after giving birth, Fields took to her official Twitter account to announce the birth of her baby boy.
