Last week, publisher Deep Silver announced some pretty nifty collector’s editions for Killer is Dead, the upcoming game from game designer Suda51 of Lollipop Chainsaw and No More Heroes fame. The extras in the “Fan Edition” of the game included a poster, an artbook, a soundtrack, some papercraft, some salacious DLC content. Deep Silver isn’t publishing Killer is Dead in the U.S., though, so these collector’s editions are exclusive to Europe and Australia.
Luckily for U.S. gamers, however, Xseed Games will be giving away some extras with launch copies of Killer is Dead. The publisher today announced that launch copies of the game will come with the artbook, soundtrack, and “Smooth Operator” DLC that have been announced for the European collector’s editions.
“Fans have been very supportive, which we’re extremely grateful for, so everyone who has pre-ordered the game or buys it at launch will get a deluxe version for no extra charge,” said Shinichi Suzuki, president of Xseed.
The DLC includes extra costumes, a bonus mission called “The Man Who Stole Blood,” a pair of in-game “Gigolo Glasses,” and a bonus “Gigolo Mission” with a woman named Betty. What is Gigolo mode, you ask? Well, as seen in the video below, it’s a completely juvenile set of missions in Killer is Dead that sees main character Mondo Zappa seduce various women. The Gigolo Glasses enable players to get an X-ray view of the women’s undies.
Killer is Dead launches in the U.S. on August 27.
