When you think about vehicles manufactured by Kia, sports cars don’t exactly come to mind. That could change if the GT4 Stinger concept becomes a reality. The concept car will be revealed at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show and many car enthusiasts are curious and excited to see it.

Kia was careful not to reveal to much about their concept design, and only offered a few photos and a small amount of information. According to the concept plans, the GT4 Stinger will have a turbocharged four cylinder, 315 horsepower, rear-wheel drive and an awesome look.

Are you excited about the possibility of a Kia sports car? Just remember, the actual car may be a little different from the concept. Concept cars typically include ideas of what a car could be and when and if the car is actually made, not every idea that was part of the concept will be used on the actual car.

A sports car would allow Kia to appeal to a different market and could create a larger customer base for the company, but how many people are willing to buy a sports car with the Kia name?

Kia has jumped markets before when it released the K900, a luxury vehicle unlike any other Kia vehicle before it. Kia is also now linked to Hyundai, which means the company has access to a RWD platform. So what does this mean? It means the GT4 Stinger is likely to hit the market in the near future.
