  • Kevin Bacon reprised several of his iconic film roles for a British TV ad. In a new commercial for U.K. mobile network EE, the actor reprises his characters from Footloose, A Few Good Men, Apollo 13, Friday the 13th, and Hollow Man .

Even though it may be hard to believe, it was thirty years last month since Footloose made its big screen debut. The film was about Ren McCormack (played by Kevin Bacon). He was an upbeat Chicago teenager who relocated to a small town where rock music and dancing was banned, due to the actions of one preacher (played by John Lithgow). McCormack falls for a rebellious girl in that small town–who just happens to be the preacher’s daughter. The film received mixed reviews at the time, but has definitely become a beloved classic in the years since.

Bacon recently lauded a New York celebration that honored the film.

And who can forget the iconic dance?

Kevin Bacon’s other EE ads have been absolutely hilarious, too. He and chef Jamie Oliver once made bacon sandwiches.

Kevin Bacon’s latest ad–along with the previous ones he’s done for EE–prove that he’s quite a TV sensation in Britain, and that the British are likely very familiar with and fond of all of his films. The actor presently stars in the hit Fox series The Following as former FBI agent Ryan Harding. Harding is actively pursuing serial killer Joe Carroll, who is played by James Purefoy. The show has quite a–well, a following. Might Kevin Bacon’s role as former Agent Harding wind up in an EE ad one day, too?

That’s entirely possible, of course, but probably unlikely while the series is still enjoying its run.

Which of Kevin Bacon’s many film roles is his best? Which ones might appear in his next EE ad?
