Kendall Jenner is opening up about her parents’ divorce.

During a recent interview with Nightline’s Juju Chang, Kendall spoke about how hard it was for her to watch her parents, Kris and Bruce Jenner, go through their separation.

“It sucked,” Kendall said. “But it’s not—I try to think of it as it’s not the worst thing that could have happened.”

“I still am so close with both of them, my mom and my dad,” she continued. “Nothing has really changed except for the fact that now my dad lives on a beach, which is awesome. That’s not that bad…everybody’s happy.”

Kris and Bruce decided to separate in October 2013, and later filed for divorce in October 2014. Since their separation, the couple, who was together for 23 years, have tried to remain friends and on good terms for their sake and their children’s.

At the time, they revealed that they were much happier living separately and would always have respect for each other. “Even though we are separated, we will always remain best friends and, as always, our family will remain our number one priority,” the couple said in a statement following their separation.

Kris also spoke about their decision to move on from each other during a guest appearance on the talk show The Talk. “You can choose to do things in a real grown-up way and be friends through something and make it so that everyone around you is comfortable and happy,” she explained.

“And I think that all the good things. Yeah, it’s a decision…Divorce is a decision. It’s not a good decision but we’re happier living apart than we were together. Everybody feels it,” she added. “But anything can happen. And the good in my life so outweighs the bad. You can’t get mad at [life too much when] another grandchild is coming. So it’s such joy and we’re all happy and looking forward.”
