Camille Grammer has had a rough couple of months; the “Real Housewives” star and former wife of actor Kelsey Grammer had invasive surgery to combat endometrial cancer just days before she was allegedly physically assaulted by her boyfriend, Dimitri Charalambopoulos. In a recent interview with Dr. Oz, Grammer says she’s doing well, but the main reason for her strength after such a trying time is that she has to be a parent to her two children, because Kelsey hasn’t been around.
“Once in a while I’ll get a little pain here and there, but I’m walking around,” she said. “I was able to go trick-or-treating with my kids and my life is moving forward and I’m feeling very well…it was just terrible ’cause, you know, right after any kind of procedure you want to be surrounded by love and you need good healing vibes and positive energy around you. Somebody’s there to take care of you and love you and β and I was physically abused and assaulted by this person and it was very traumatizing. But now, I’m working with a therapist and I’m going to be okay. I’m doing well. My ex-husband hasn’t seen the kids since July, so I’m Mom. I’m there. So I really needed to be here for them. My son doesn’t really understand it that well, but my daughter said, ‘Mom, I’m so glad you’re getting surgery ’cause then the cancer’s gonna be all gone.’ ”
Grammer was granted a restraining order against Charalambopoulos just before Halloween after he reportedly attacked her in their hotel room following an argument.
βHe grabbed me by the hair, twisted it around his hand, and repeatedly pulled my head into the bed and its headboard,β Grammer said in court documents. β[He] succeeded in pulling out swaths of my hair and gave me a large, painful contusion on the side of my head. All the while, I was screaming for help. I began to believe he would kill me.”
Grammer divorced Kelsey in 2010 and the two of them have had a few public spats, but the actor hasn’t commented on the reality star’s accusations.
