Kelly Rowland may have suffered from a little jealousy when it came to her former bandmate a few years back, but she’s not letting that get in the way of their friendship.
Rowland, who opened up about her feelings toward Beyonce’s sudden superstardom in her song “Dirty Laundry”, was jealous of the attention Beyonce got once Destiny’s Child went their separate ways.
“Bird in a cafe/ You’d never know what I was dealing with,” she sang. “Went our separate ways but I was happy she was killin’ it/ Bittersweet, she was up, I was down/ No lie, I feel good for her but what do I do now?”
However, she still has her girl’s back when it comes to the media. When asked if she feels like Beyonce stole the idea for her headline-grabbing pixie cut from her, Rowland said not at all.
“We have been rocking short haircuts since the beginning of time,” she said. “But we all got it from somebody. Somebody had something off of somebody…Beyonce can have a strand of hair on her head and still be fine.”
Rowland is in the process of getting songs together for the re-release of her fourth album, “Talk A Good Game”, which she collaborated on with Lonny Bereal.
“I vocal produced over half of the [Talk a Good Game] project and we wrote two songs that may be on the re-release that I wrote with Kelly and Jado,” Bereal said. “She’s back in the studio, even today, back in the studio creating new music.”
