Kelly Clarkson opened up recently about the problems she suffered following the birth of her daughter, and said that she actually lost her voice and was considering career alternatives at one point.

The new mom suffered a particularly difficult pregnancy and was hospitalized due to the extreme sickness she experienced before she even gave birth, but the scary part came after daughter River was born and she had a temporary issue with her throat.

“Afterwards was the part where I literally had a moment where I cried and drank wine all day. I was like, ‘Oh, God, I’m not going to be a singer anymore!’ I was bawling to my husband and like, completely hammered, just going, ‘Oh my God, it’s over, I don’t know what I’m going to do. I guess I could do more charity work.’ Like, I didn’t know what I was going to do,” Kelly Clarkson said.

Clarkson told ET that while the pregnancy was a painful ordeal, she’d do it again in a heartbeat and actually wants another child, although her husband doesn’t share her feelings.

“My husband is running from me because I want another one…I’m annoyed by my previous self. You have a baby and realize you worried about stupid stuff. I didn’t like me before, but I like me now.”

Kelly Clarkson said that before meeting husband Brandon Blackstock, she wasn’t sure she wanted to be a mother. Now, however, she says she has a very happy baby who loves loud music, and her maternal instincts kicked right in .

“I didn’t think I had that maternal thing happening. I’m very much a gypsy at heart and didn’t think I’d get married,” Kelly Clarkson said.

Clarkson had made headlines recently for her video for “Heartbeat Song”, which features a love story between two men. Kelly has long been a vocal advocate for the LGBT community and has spoken openly about her political choices when it comes to gay rights.
