Universal has released an official U.K. trailer for Keanu Reeves’ newest movie, “47 Ronin”.
The movie was originally due out on November 21, 2012 but was later pushed back to February 8, 2013. Now, it is now set to debut on Christmas day in the U.S. and on Boxing Day in the U.K.
“47 Ronin” is supposedly Reeves’ biggest movie since “The Matrix”. The producers must hope so since their budget jumped to $225 million from their original budget of $175 million. It was previously reported that they would have to make $500 million at the box office just to break even.
From what you can see in the trailer, “47 Ronin” seems to be an action packed movie, with Reeves battling an evil witch that turns herself into a dragon.
The movie’s official website describes the plot of the movie:
Keanu Reeves makes an explosive return to action-adventure in 47 Ronin. After a treacherous warlord kills their master and banishes their kind, 47 leaderless samurai vow to seek vengeance and restore honor to their people. Driven from their homes and dispersed across the land, this band of Ronin must seek the help of Kai (Reeves)—a half-breed they once rejected—as they fight their way across a savage world of mythic beasts, shape-shifting witchcraft and wondrous terrors. As this exiled, enslaved outcast becomes their most deadly weapon, he will transform into the hero who inspires this band of outnumbered rebels to seize eternity
Reeves is also directing and starring in another movie, “Man of Tai Chi”.
