Katy Perry and John Mayer, who have had an off-and-on relationship since 2012, have reportedly decided to end things for good. The "Roar" singer just enjoyed a trip to London and Milan without Mayer and started speculation that she might be single again.

Perry actually sparked engagement rumors recently at the Elle Style Awards after she was photographed wearing a huge diamond on that finger, so the news of the breakup came as a shock to many. The couple have gone through some very public issues, however, and broke up once before reuniting and eventually working together.

"Everyone wants them to get engaged," a "source" told E! News last year. "They are so perfect together."

Perry has described herself as a huge fan of Mayer's and was excited for the chance to work with him on the song "Who You Love" for his latest album, Paradise Valley.

"I've been such a fan, I think he's so incredibly talented and gifted and a genius songwriter. So to be a part of anything he was doing was just natural," she said.

After Perry's marriage to comedian Russell Brand ended in early 2012, Mayer helped her get over the heartbreak of divorce. However, she has said that she enjoyed being married.

"I really loved it. It was a new, fun, exciting journey. But I like how I am now, and I think all things happen for a reason," she said.
