Katie Hopkins, a British television personality, found herself in the headlines this week when she tweeted some comments about singer Kelly Clarkson’s weight, and she’s still going.

Hopkins told Access Hollywood that Clarkson is setting a certain example for her baby daughter by keeping on extra weight, saying she should exercise and get in shape. The interview comes after Hopkins took to social media about the singer after an appearance on Graham Norton Live.

“Kelly Clarkson is now a chunky monkey, if we’re putting it kindly. She does look like she’s eaten her backup singers. My advice: she needs to get out there with her stroller and do some pushing and get some of that weight off. That’s not baby weight. That’s carrot cake…you’re supporting Kelly Clarkson because everybody likes to have a fat friend, because the great thing about a fat friend is it makes you feel slimmer,” Hopkins reportedly said. “Every fat child has a fat parent. And that’s – for me – why Kelly Clarkson is an important example. She needs to allow her daughter to grow up knowing that it’s not great to be fat. It’s much better to be healthier.”

Hopkins has received quite a bit of backlash for her comments, but says that Clarkson and other people in the public eye should accept what comes their way regarding criticism about their appearance.

As for Clarkson, she didn’t even know who Hopkins was when an interviewer asked her about the tweets, and responded in the best way possible.

“That’s because she doesn’t know me. I’m awesome! It doesn’t bother me. It’s a free world. Say what you will.”
