Controversial radio show host and America’s Got Talent judge, Howard Stern, may have just celebrated a major birthday milestone but all eyes seem to be on the antics and reveals from his guests. One of these party attenders was a beloved talk show host, who gave Stern an exclusive about her impending nuptial.

Katie Couric made a surprise announcement at Stern’s 60th birthday party. The Katie talk show host told Stern that she plans to get married this summer to her fiancé.

Couric’s fiancé, John Molner, is a 50 year-old NYC based financier. He is a former  resident of Chicago and a partner at the investment firm Brown Brothers Harriman. The couple dated nearly two years before their engagement, and they publicized their romance in spring 2012. Molner and Couric announced their engagement in September.

As many celebrities do, Couric took to Twitter to share news of her engagement. On September 3, she tweeted, “Yes it’s true! So touched by all the kind Tweets & warm wishes-thank you! A great end to the summer & looking fwd to seeing you all Monday!!”

This is Couric’s second marriage; her first husband, Jay Monahan, died of colon cancer in 1998. She has two children from that marriage: Ellie, 22, and Carrie, 17.

Fans of Couric who hoped to attend the wedding will be sadly disappointed, because she also revealed that the wedding will be a small-family only event. On the bright side, she is planning a big party for those unable to attend the actual wedding ceremony. When Stern questioned Couric about his invite, she told him he wasn’t invited to the commitment ceremony, but he was allowed to attend its after party.

Couric’s talk show was not picked up for a third season and ends in June 2014. Therefore, she will have some spare time to plan a beautiful wedding before taking on her new Yahoo role.
