Kathy Griffin is the newest member of E!’s original series Fashion Police.

When Joan Rivers passed away suddenly earlier this year, no one knew who would, or could, fill her shoes on the show. However, it has officially been announced that Griffin will be taking her spot aside fellow co-hosts Kelly Osbourne, Giuliana Rancic, and newcomer Brad Goreski.

On Monday, E! made the announcement, revealing that Griffin will join the cast in January 2015 to cover the Golden Globes. The show, which originally aired weekly, will now have 17 episodes throughout 2015 which will cover high-profile events.

“I get it! These are some big shoes I’m going to fill,” Griffin said in her announcement. “Joan was truly one of a kind. Now I hope you will accept me for me. I’m just Kathy. Did I say I’m just Kathy? I meant I’m Kathy F***ing Griffin and you celebrities better strap yourself in, as I am taking no prisoners. I am not holding back so DAMMIT let’s have some fun!”

While Griffin is excited to take on the new position, she said she wouldn’t even consider it without Joan’s daughter Melissa Rivers giving her her blessing.

“Melissa gave me the blessing, which was a deal-breaker for me – or the deal-maker,” Griffin said. “That was what made me go, ‘If Melissa says it’s okay, then it’s okay.'”

“Kathy just feels right, and Brad brings a fun, new voice to join Giuliana and Kelly in this ensemble,” said Melissa Rivers. “I’m excited to see where this panel takes this series my mother so adored in this next incarnation.”
