  • On September 10, actor Katey Sagal was honored for more than 40 years of work in television and film with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Her castmates past and present joined her on Wednesday as her star was unveiled, including her co-actors from the long-running sitcom Married With Children.

Ed O’Neill, Christina Applegate and David Faustino were present at the ceremony in Los Angeles honoring Sagal, which made for a reunion 17 years after their show together ended in 1997. Sagal had played the role of Peggy Bundy, wife to O’Neill’s Al Bundy and mother to the characters of Applegate and Faustino. The show ran from 1987 to 1997, during which Sagal was nominated four times for a Golden Globe for her performance.

In recent years, Sagal has starred in the hit drama series Sons of Anarchy, and her performance their won her a Golden Globe in 2011. Actor Charlie Hunnam was among her co-stars on the drama who also graced the Walk of Fame event.

“I have to say I’m really humbled by this and I’m a little weirded out by it. This makes me realize that I’ve been at it for a while and I don’t like to think in terms of time. I’m not much for looking back, but right here right now this is awesome,” said Sagal.

Her family was also present to celebrate her achievements. Husband Karl Sutter, who is also executive producer of Sons of Anarchy, brought along daughters Sarah Grace and Esme Louise and son Jackson James to cheer for their mother.

Sagal said of her career, “It’s not only given me gainful employment, but personal gratification and deep connections with others but best of all it has allowed me to be of service. My job is a service job. As actors we make people laugh, and cry and remember their own feelings.”
