Former supermodel Carol Alt, who appeared on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition back in 1982, recently dissed on today’s supermodels, including Kate Upton.

Upton has made a name for herself in the modeling world, and appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition in 2011 and on the covers in 2012 and 2013.

During an interview with the Huffington Post, Alt discussed Upton’s success and wanted to know what all the “hullaballoo” was about.

“What I don’t understand with Kate is, what’s all the hullaballoo?” Alt said, during the interview on Tuesday. “There are many covers of Sports Illustrated—one girl was just wearing a bottom and [no top]. Actually, a couple times no top and one time just beads. I think that was Marisa [Miller].”

Alt said that she believes Upton has been talked about more than any other supermodel simply because of the increased use of social media. “I don’t get what all the hullabaloo is,” Alt said, regarding Upton. “I think what it is, is that in this moment there’s just so much social media and that’s why she’s had more word of mouth than anybody.”

While Alt questions Upton’s popularity, she does admit that she does like Kate, she just thinks all of the current supermodels deserve to be talked about as well. “I like Kate. She’s a pretty girl. But all the girls are nice and all the girls are pretty,” she said. “And every cover, to me, deserves to be talked about.”

Apparently the other girls are being talked about, as Kate took to her own Twitter page to congratulate the girls on the cover of the 2014 Swimsuit edition. “OMG! So happy for @LilyAldridge @chrissyteigen and @NinaAgdal!! What a gorgeous cover!! Loving the booty for vday!” Upton tweeted.
