  • After recently celebrating her 22nd birthday in Chicago with Detroit Tigers boyfriend Justin Verlander, model and actress Kate Upton appears in the new Lady Antebellum music video, “Bartender,” which also features Arrested Development and Veep star Tony Hale.

The American country music group, originally formed in Nashville, Tennessee, consists of Hillary Scott (lead vocals), Charles Kelley (lead vocals) and Dave Haywood (background vocals, guitar, piano, mandolin). At the 54th Grammy Awards, Lady Antebellum took home the award for “Best Country Album” after winning five awards at the 53rd Grammy Awards.

Earlier this week, the threesome promised Twitter fans a premiere of the video on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. on the Today Show and followed through right on time.

In the video, Upton, one of the stars from the film The Other Woman, slams down drinks as quickly as Hale can make them, resulting in a form of boxing match between Upton and her girlfriends and Hale mixing drinks with as much flourish as he can while the members of the band cheer him on, wiping the sweat from his brow. In the end, Upton and her friends cheer as they defeat Hale and he is left kneeling on an empty soundstage, apparently confused.

Well, it’s not Shakespeare, but it’s entertaining and fun and Hale’s neck tattoo is certainly interesting … and large.

The video, shot with sparse set pieces moving in and out to create the illusion of four different locations, was directed by Shane Drake and shot in Los Angeles in May.

Upton seemed to have fun shooting the video and posted about it on Twitter.

“Bartender” is the first single from Lady Antebellum’s fifth studio album which will be released later this year.
