Kate Upton and her ex-boyfriend Justin Verlander were spotted together over the weekend, which stirred up rumors that they were again romantically involved.
Upton, 21, and Verlander, 30, were photographed at the Wells Fargo Arena in Philadelphia on Saturday night while they were watching the Philadelphia Flyers versus the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey game. @Charlton_dylan, an avid Twitter user, posted the photo of the couple (or not) on her personal twitter page. “Kate Upton and Justin Verlander at the flyers game in the box seats next to ours,” she captioned the photo.
While it may appear that Upton and the Detroit Tigers pitcher are headed for reconciliation, sources close to couple reveal that they are NOT dating again. Verlander had to undergo core muscle repair surgery on Wednesday morning to correct an injury he received during his offseason conditioning program. “Kate and Justin are not back together” the source confirms, adding that Verlander had asked Upton to visit him before his surgery. “She wanted to be there for him,” the source continued.

Verlander will endure six weeks of physical therapy, and is scheduled to begin playing again at the start of the 2014 season. “Despite the fact this is a little bit of a setback physically, his previous workouts will probably allow him to catch up to speed much quicker,” the team’s manager said during a press conference. “We fully anticipate Justin to participate in spring training and be in a position to compete at the beginning of the 2014 season,” Tigers GM Dave Dombrowski said in a statement.
After his surgery, Verlander took to Twitter to thank his friends, family, and fans for their support. “Thanks for the support regarding my surgery today. It went well and now my only focus is to get ready for 2014! #determined,” he tweeted.
