Rapper Kanye West has found himself in the midst of yet another police investigation after punching an 18-year-old that was screaming insults at fiancée Kim Kardashian. According to TMZ, the young man hurled insults and racial slurs at both Kardashian and West, and West later assaulted the man in a waiting room at a medical office.
While it seems that the dad to young North West can’t keep his name out of police investigations, this is probably one situation where people might actually think West was in the right for his actions. After a man hurled racial insults and other derogatory slurs at Kardashian, West took matters into his own hands and reportedly punched the teenager.
According to People, everything started when Kardashian was trying to get away from photographers while out shopping for furniture. An 18-year-old was trying to help Kardashian get away from the paparazzi when he made the comment “F–k these fa–ot ass ni–ers.” After Kardashian reprimanded the young man for using the N-word, he apparently began screaming at her and called her a “bitch,” “slut” and a “ni–er lover,” among other things.
After Kardashian got on the phone with West to tell him what was going on, the young man hurled a racial slur at him over the phone. “At this point Kim was seriously afraid for her life,” a source told People. “He was going nuts. Kanye came down to help her but then the guy ran into a chiropractic office so Kim and Kanye walked in after him.” Kardashian and West went to the waiting room where they found the 18-year-old sitting and West allegedly punched the young man.
FOX411 spoke with police about the incident and verified that the report of West being investigated for battery was indeed true.
“[On Monday] the Beverly Hills Police Department responded to the 8800 block of Wilshire Blvd. regarding a Misdemeanor Battery that just occurred at the location,” Lieutenant Mark Miner said. “The named suspect was identified as Kanye West by the victim and several witnesses. Mr. West had left the location prior to officers arrival.”
The teen plans to press charges against West, who is busy preparing for the rest of his Yeezus tour. West began touring in October, took a break during the month of January, and will wrap up the remainder of the tour in February.
