Kanye West has never been called a man of few words, and such was the case on Wednesday night when he took the stage to accept his Shoe of the Year honor (yes, you read that correctly) for his Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 at the Footwear News 29th Annual Achievement Awards.

“I’m waiting on my son to arrive any day now,” he told the audience on Wednesday night. “I look at my daughter and I look at my wife [Kim Kardashian] and she’s rich and I don’t plan on being broke.”

Kanye West isn’t known for his eloquent speeches either.

The rapper joked about his attire, saying that while many think he dresses wife Kim Kardashian, that’s not necessarily the case.

“I know you’re thinking, ‘Where’s my suit jacket?’ But if my wife’s not here, no suit jacket,” he joked.

Turning just a tiny bit serious for a moment, Kanye West dished about daughter North West.

“She might not be making sentences but she’s bringing so much joy,” he said of the two-year-old daughter he shares with his wife. “I know she’s going to grow up to be amazing.”

Kim Kardashian used a similar term earlier this week when she said she is feeling “fat as f**k” during this second pregnancy.
