Kacey Musgraves had a big (hair) night at the 2014 CMA Awards on Wednesday in Nashville, Tennessee!
The young country music star, who won Song of the Year for “Follow Your Arrow”, looked beautiful and classy.
Kacey Musgraves also had gigantic, huge, enormous hair.
In Texas, we see big hair all the time. However, I don’t recall seeing it quite so big, save photos from around the 1960’s and 70’s era of giant coifs. Ok, maybe a few neighbors.
Kacey Musgraves explained that her giant hair was a tribute for when she sang the 1971 Loretta Lynn country classic “You’re Looking at Country” with Loretta Lynn herself.
“I’m a Texas girl. So, of course I have to go with big hair!” she said. “I’m also paying homage with what I’m performing tonight.”
Shortly after Kacey Musgraves posted the picture of her with Loretta Lynn on Instagram, she posted this:

Kacey Musgraves’ performance with Loretta Lynn on Wednesday was a life-long dream come true. She has always idolized the country legend.
“[It’s a] lifetime, dream come true and I could only seal the deal with the biggest hair known to man,” she explained.
When Kacey Musgraves was asked how long it took her to get that huge thing teased up like that (by the way, that is a question that, around here, should be filed with asking a woman how much she weighs), she replied,
“I woke up like this!”
Kacey Musgraves then cheekily added, “It’s full of secrets!”
That’s a lot of secrets.
