Kacey Musgraves’ hair was definitely one of the hot topics at the 48th annual CMA Awards on Wednesday, November 5.

The singer of course looked stunning and could be seen sporting a very ’70s look hair style, with a major poof in the back.

After receiving the award for Song of the Year for “Follow Your Arrow,” Musgraves took the stage with country music legend Loretta Lynn to perform her 1971 hit “You’re Looking at Country.”

Before the show started, Access Hollywood’s Liz Hernandez caught up with Kacey and asked her about why she chose the big hair do, to which Musgraves explained that she had to look the part for her performance with Lynn.

“I’m a Texas girl. So, of course I have to go with big hair!” she told Hernandez. “I’m also paying homage with what I’m performing tonight.”

Kacey also explained that performing with Lynn, especially at the CMA Awards, was a dream come true. “[It’s a] lifetime, dream come true and I could only seal the deal with the biggest hair known to man,” Musgraves explained.

Musgraves later posted a photo of her and Lynn together to her personal Instagram account. “Was it all a dream? A delicious, country dream?” she captioned the photo.
