Universal Pictures announced yesterday that it will release Steven Spielberg’s “Jurassic World” (re-titled from “Jurassic Park 4”) on Friday, June 12, 2015, in 3D.
The film is set to be directed by “Safety Not Guaranteed” helmer, Colin Trevorrow. The screenplay was co-written by Trevorrow and Derek Connolly.
Aint It Cool points ot that the title confirms that this will likely be a reboot of sorts, and not just a sequel. They go on to say that it will likely be a “bigger, badder version of JURASSIC PARK”.
The first three films in the Jurassic Park series made over $1.9 billion at the box office, with this year’s 3D-release of the original included in that figure.
At the time of this writing no actors/actresses are rumored, and no other film is set to be released during that weekend in 2015.
