The trailer for Nobody Wants the Night has finally been released. The film stars Academy Award winner Juliette Binoche as Josephine Peary, the wife of real-life adventurer Robert Peary. Nobody Wants the Night is set in 1908 and is about Josephine’s search for her husband in Greenland. She is joined in her quest by an Inuit woman played by Rinko Kikuchi, who happens to be Robert’s mistress and is pregnant with his child. The script for Nobody Wants the Night was written by Miguel Barros, with Isabel Coixet helming the camera.

Joining Binoche and Kikuchi is actor Gabriel Byrne who will be playing the role of veteran explorer Bram Trevor. Coixet has assembled a stellar cast for the film. Japanese actress Rinko Kikuchi made waves for her role in Alejandro Inarritu’s ensemble drama Babel, as well as starring in Guillermo Del Toro’s box office hit Pacific Rim. Byrne is a character actor who rose to prominence in the 90s for his roles in the films The Usual Suspects and Miller’s Crossing. Binoche, on the other hand, is an award-winning actress with an impressive filmography. She was recently seen in the Godzilla remake as Sandra Brody.

Nobody Wants the Night is the opening film of the 2015 Berlinale Film Festival, which will take place on February. “I’m very pleased that Nobody Wants the Night will open the 2015 Berlinale,” festival director Dieter Kosslick said in a statement. “Isabel Coixet has created an impressive and perceptive portrait of two women in extreme circumstances.”

Binoche will next be seen in The Clouds of Sils Maria alongside Kristen Stewart and Chloe Grace Moretz. She is also set to appear on the film The 33 with Cote de Pablo and Antonio Banderas. The 33 is a film about a Chilean mining disaster, with Binoche playing the role of Maria who is the sister of one of the miners.
