Looking stunning while strutting down the red carpet on Monday, SAG Awards nominee Julia Roberts revealed on Extra that she’s a soccer mom and proud of it. During an interview with Mario Lopez, the Erin Brockovich star spoke about being supportive of her kids’ love for sports. “Oh I’ve been a soccer mom for a while but it’s soccer, basketball, aerial yoga – those are things that rule our home,” the actress said.
The actress was nominated for her emotional role in HBO’s The Normal Heart where she played Dr. Emma Brookner. Roberts eventually lost to fellow-HBO star Frances McDormand, who took home the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Miniseries award.
Roberts has three children: Henry, who is seven, and 10 year olds Hazel and Phinnaeus. Roberts went solo during the SAG Awards Ceremony as her husband, cameraman Daniel Moder, was out shooting a new picture. The Notting Hill star is gushing about her latest project which is based on the documentary Batkid Begins: The Wish Heart Around the World.
The documentary followed Miles Scott who was given a chance to become Batkid for one day thanks to the Make a Wish foundation. Along with the thousands of volunteers from the San Francisco area, the local government helped make Scott’s dream a reality by touring him around the city with his very own Batmobile. Scott was given a chance to fight Batman villains and solve crime around the city of “Gotham.”

Roberts seemed ecstatic with her new project, saying: “We were lucky enough to see this documentary and we loved it and we think that it would be a really beautiful movie.” The adaptation deal was sealed over the weekend, Deadline reports. Dana Nachman who directed the documentary is also on board the project, serving as executive producer. We’re expecting to hear more about this project over the coming months.
