Since their split in 2009, the drama has never seemed to end with these two. The “Jon and Kate Plus 8” reality television stars are at it again.
This time, Kate is suing her ex-husband Jon Gosselin, accusing him of hacking into her personal computer and cell phone and using the information obtained to give her private secrets to an author writing a tell-all book about her life.
The claim, filed in U.S. District Court in Pennsylvania on Monday, August 26, is stating that Jon stole a hard drive from Kate that had all of her personal information and then used to it help his friend and tabloid writer, Robert Hoffman, write a book called, “Kate Gosselin: How She Fooled the World”, which was released in 2012.
The suit states that after illegally obtaining her information, “Jon then gave the contents of Kate’s email account and the hard drive, all of which were acquired illegally, to his friend and business partner, tabloid reporter Robert Hoffman. Hoffman used the illegally acquired data to publish a defamatory book about Kate … which was removed from large distributors like Amazon.com because the information was obtained illegally.”
According to Kate’s lawyer, Jordan Rushie, “The book with Robert Hoffman had certain confidential info that he shouldn’t have and she believes it came from Jon”.
In an email to Radar Online, Hoffman threatens to release more information about Kate if he is falsely accused of anything by her or her lawyers.
“The other 90 percent of the material that I possess will not be published, ever, but you can be sure that if I’m falsely accused of anything and drug into court, or called a liar by Kate Gosselin or her lawyers, this information will come out then, including photographs.”
Jon and Kate showcased their lives on the TLC reality show “Jon and Kate Plus 8” until their divorce in 2009. The former couple has 8 children, a set of twins and sextuplets.
