Jon Gosselin made news recently for showing up at ex-wife Kate Gosselin’s yard sale. He didn’t show up unannounced, as previously reported, however. Instead he came because his kids asked him to. At least that’s what he told Extra’s Mario Lopez during an interview this past week.

When Lopez asked about his recent eviction from his home and rumors about him being homeless, the former Jon & Kate Plus 8 star had the following to say.

“The truth is I made some poor financial decisions, but I am living in a home,” Jon Gosselin said.

And when asked what went wrong between him and Kate Gosselin, he had no problem answering that question quickly and directly, too.

“The biggest reason, I think we both wanted different things. I wanted to settle down and kind of get off TV for a while… and she wanted to further her career,” he said.

One answer Jon gave that coincides perfectly with one Kate has given several times in recent months is in regard to the relationship the two presently have with one another.

“There is no real relationship, like we don’t talk…” And as for any offers to co-parent with Kate, Jon said, “It’s just not working at this point in time.”

Jon Gosselin managed to get a slight dig in about Kate Gosselin when Mario Lopez asked him if he would be watching the upcoming season of Celebrity Apprentice, on which his ex-wife will appear.

“Umm, maybe… If she gets fired probably, I’ll watch that episode,” he said.

Ouch.

Mario also asked Jon to comment on last January’s awkward Today Show appearance made by Kate Gosselin, along with their twins, Mady and Cara.

“I just felt really bad for my girls, so I called them afterwards, and I was just like, ‘Don’t worry about it.’”

Jon Gosselin admitted he was dating someone when the Extra host asked, but his answer wasn’t at all what Mario Lopez was expecting.

“I’m dating myself right now,” Jon said, adding, “because I don’t even know myself… I’ve always been with a woman… now, I’ve got to figure out who I am. Being a father, devoting my time toward my kids…”

So what’s your take on Jon Gosselin? Is he the loser Kate Gosselin makes him out to be or just a guy who can’t seem to catch a break?

It will certainly be interesting to see if he picks up the pieces since being evicted this time and makes a better life for himself.
