Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash had a love story of the ages, and now their tale is being depicted in a new musical Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash.
Cash and Carter are two of the most iconic names in the country music industry on their own. Together, they made musical history that is still relevant today.
More than 30 songs written by the duo will be featured in the musical Ring of Fire, a sort of quasi-biography that tells the famed story of the man in black and his bride.
Kent M. Lewis and Michael Monroe Goodman play the country star Johnny Cash and Cory Goodrich takes on the role of his beloved June.
Fox Chicago, in a review of Ring of Fire, gave a positive review of the musical.

“But in the end, as three actors who have had immense success around the country in these roles, i had to remind them of Cash’s immortal words: ‘Success is having to worry about every damn thing in the world except money.'”
Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash, created by Richard Maltby, Jr., will complete its run at Chicago’s Mercury Theater on Aug. 30.
