Uncle Jesse and Aunt Becky seemed like the perfect couple on the television show Full House and it seemed like John Stamos and Lori Loughlin had the potential to be a perfect couple in real life too. To the disappointment of many, John and Lori never got together off camera and the only relationship they had with each other was their fake marriage on Full House.

Many people have wondered why the two never made an attempt to date and even think it seems odd that they were never a couple. Lori recently explained the situation saying,

“I was married at the time I was doing the show to my first husband. Literally when I was getting divorced, he met Rebecca [Romijn].”

Stamos was married to model Rebecca Romijn for seven years. They married in 1998 and split in 2005. But even after both stars were divorced they never did consider dating each other.

That doesn’t mean there aren’t any feelings between the two, they both insist that they have a great friendship and find each other attractive. Stamos complimented Lori by saying she was “the one that got away.”

Lori was flattered by the compliment and said that she had always found Stamos attractive and went on to say that he was the hottest character on the Full House cast.

We may never see John Stamos and Lori Loughlin together in real life, but for those of us who watched Full House in the early 90’s, we can still imagine how great there relationship would have been had it been anything like the marriage of Uncle Jesse and Aunt Becky.

Did you always hope that Stamos and Loughlin would get together in real life?
