Joey Feek is living out her last days under hospice care as cancer ravishes her body. It isn’t going to win over her mind, however. In addition to counting her many blessings, she and husband Rory Feek can add Grammy Award nomination to their list of recent celebrations.
It was Monday when Joey Feek’s spirits–husband Rory’s were, too–were bolstered when learning their song, “If I Needed You,” received a Grammy nod.
Rory Feek wrote about their excitement via Facebook.
…woke my bride up this morning with a baby in my arms and the news that our version of "If I Needed You" was nominated…

Known best as country/bluegrass duo Joey + Rory, this Grammy nomination comes on the heels of their announcement of a new album that will be released on Valentine’s Day. It’s uncertain if Joey Feek will make it to the release date, but the husband and wife team were determined to go ahead with their previous plans just the same.

Joey Feek was diagnosed with cervical cancer back in 2014. She learned several weeks ago that the chemo treatments weren’t working, and opted to spend her remaining time at home with her husband and their daughter, Indiana.
Optimism has proven very beneficial to many people with terminal illnesses. Maybe word of this Grammy nomination will help buy Joey Feek just a little more time.
