Jill Duggar and her pregnancy will be the highlight of the new season of 19 Kids and Counting. Since marrying Derick Dillard back in June, Jill has welcomed her new responsibilities as a wife and looks forward to becoming a mom.
Derick Dillard didn’t grow up the way Jill did, however, so some wonder how he will take to fatherhood. Raised with just one brother–unlike his wife, who grew up with 18 siblings–Derick hasn’t had the kind of experience with babies and small children that Jill Duggar knows so well.
The season nine premiere of 19 Kids and Counting will give viewers their first look at Derick in charge of children. He and Jill play hosts to all of the little Duggar girls when they have a sleepover at their home.
People magazine received a sneak peak clip of the fun that Jill, Derick, and all their little guests had.

Jill Duggar’s husband admitted to never having painting anyone’s fingernails before. It sounds like he learned a new skill at the sleepover.
“It was a lot of fun,” he also admitted.
And his wife thought he actually knew what he was doing.
“You did pretty good,” she told him.
“It was really yummy,” five-year-old Josie Duggar said of the fondue that accompanied the nail painting party.
Alas, Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard are expecting a baby boy, so it will be a while longer before he has to further master the fine art of nail painting. If the couple follows in the footsteps of the 19 Kids and Counting patriarch and matriarch Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, however, there will be lots more opportunities to perfect his skills a bit further down the road.
Fans can tune in to the new (and ninth) season of 19 Kids and Counting and follow Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard on their journey toward parenthood starting on February 17th at 9:00 PM on TLC.
