Thousands of medals have been recalled by the Vatican after it was discovered that “Jesus” had been spelled “Lesus”.

The medals–more than 6,000 in all–were minted to commemorate Pope Francis’ papacy and were put up for sale at the Vatican Publishing House in St. Peter’s Square before the spelling error was noticed, and it’s estimated that about four were sold before they were pulled. Experts say those medals will be valuable collector’s items. Of the 6,000 medals, 200 were in gold, 3,000 were in silver, and 3,000 were in bronze.

The medals feature a portrait of Pope Francis on one side and a Latin quote on the other: “Vidit ergo Jesus publicanum et quia miserando antque eligendo vidit, ait illi sequere me” (“Jesus, therefore, saw the publican, and because he saw by having mercy and by choosing, He said to him, ‘Follow me'”).

Apparently Vatican withdrawing #PopeFrancis medal cuz has "Lesus" instead of "Jesus." The 4 already sold will be collector's items.
