Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake’s marriage has been rumored to be on the rocks for quite sometime.

From cheating allegations to pregnancy speculation and divorce rumors, the celebrity couple has made headlines a number of times over the past year.

The famed 7th Heaven actress’ disappearing acts for award shows also added to the mounting questions about their alleged marital problems.

However, nothing compared to the jaw-dropping report published by Heat magazine back in August.

The British publication reported The 20/20 Experience singer’s alleged infidelity based on rumored reports of his behavior at a party in Paris.

While media outlets are known for reporting rumors, the story went a bit further with unauthorized pictures and false quotes that were reportedly attributed from Biel.

Of course, the publication is now aware that the 32-year-old actress never made the statements.

According to E! News the defense presented an official statement in court regarding the false news.

“On 6th-12th September edition of Heat magazine, the Defendant published an article under the headlines ‘Justin Timberlake gets flirty with another woman,’ ‘It is not his wife!” and ‘The flirty photos that rocked Justin and Jessica’s marriage,'” the statement read.

Heat magazine also issued a formal apology to the couple for publishing the defaming report.

“The Defendant accepts that the article was false and withdraws any inferences that questioned the state of Justin and Jessica’s marriage. The Defendant regrets any embarrassment caused to the couple and unreservedly apologizes to them.”

A brief statement was also released on behalf of the couple. They are reportedly satisfied with the apology they received.

“The couple will not be making any further comment in relation to this matter, but will not hesitate to take similar legal action if false allegations regarding the state of their marriage are repeated.”

No details have been released in regards to any potential financial settlement.
