Jenna Coleman confirmed to BBC Radio on Friday that he has, in fact, left her Doctor Who role behind, following rumors from earlier in the week that said pretty much the same thing.
“I have left the Tardis–it’s happened,” she said. “I’ve filmed my last scenes.”
So when exactly will fans bid adieux to Jenna Coleman’s character, Clara Oswald, behind?
Coleman played coy that that question, revealing only that it will be “at some point this season.”

Don’t think for a moment that Jenna Coleman will sit idol now that her time on Doctor Who is through. She has already signed on to play a young Queen Victoria in an upcoming drama series called Victoria.
Saying she is “delighted” to be playing Queen Victoria during the time when she was both courting and married to Prince Albert, Jenna Coleman calls the new drama “ambitious.”
“She is a vivid, strong, inspirational and utterly fascinating woman in British history and I can’t wait to tell her story,” she says of her character.
Despite her new endeavors, it wasn’t easy leaving Doctor Who. Jenna Coleman dished about her last scenes as Clara Oswald with current Doctor Peter Capaldi.
“It’s been in the works for a very long time,” she said, “[Writer] Steven [Moffat] and I sat down a year and a half ago and tried to work out the best place to do it and tell a really good story,” she says.
“We’re not going to give any details but it will happen at some point this season. We worked out a really good story arc out so hopefully people will love it,” Coleman adds.

Filming starts soon for Victoria, but there’s one thing Jenna Coleman needed to perfect before she begins playing her new role.
“I needed to learn to waltz,” Coleman said of the role on Radio 1, “It’s really fun, it’s like bootcamp.”
If you’re a Doctor Who fan will you miss Jenna Coleman as Clara Oswald once she takes her official curtain call?
