But there’s something else the actor received after he was chosen for the film, a new way to walk, which sounds strange, right?

When Dornan visited the Graham Norton Show, he said he didn’t really learn how to walk properly until he shot the movie. “So basically, I’ve always had a complex with the way I walk,” he said. “I’ve not always been told I’ve got a bad walk, but someone’s always commented on my walk. It’s always been a bit like ‘Alright’. That’s how you walk?'”

Dornan said he always walked on his toes and had a bouncy stride every since he was a kid, but when he had to film a dance scene for Fifty Shades, the choreographer said that he had to change his natural walking style to do the steps.

The actor also said the dancing lessons makes him walk better to this very day, because he doesn’t walk on his toes anymore, he uses a heal-to-toe type of stride.

“It was like foxtrot, it was very classic,” said Dornan, about the dance scene. “I was really struggling with it, and the dance teacher said ‘You know what you need to do. Just think about it as walking,’ and I was like ‘okay.'”

In addition, the 31- year old actor said he should have learned to walk properly as a baby, but for some reason he didn’t, and he’s not sure why. “And I’m 31 years old, literally the first thing you learn in life is to walk. And I was like, ‘That’s funny. I’m not great walking,'” he said.
