It’s been a long time coming, but it’s finally here. Apple has started to send out invites for their big iPhone 5 event on September 12. How do we know it’s about the iPhone 5? Just take a look at the invite.
As you can plainly see, the 12’s shadow makes a 5. That all but confirms the iPhone 5’s presence at the event. Of course, there are still rumors that Apple will just call it the “new iPhone.” It makes sense as Apple has been moving away from adding numbers to their product names.
What can you expect from the iPhone 5 come September 12? All the rumors so far point to the device having a larger screen, a nano-SIM card, LTE connectivity, thinner battery and a smaller dock connector.
Even with all the leaks, I’m sure Apple has a few surprises left up their digital sleeves. It wouldn’t be an Apple product reveal if they didn’t have at least one thing that legitimately surprises us. My bet is on something involving iOS 6. There might even be more information regarding Passbook and the device’s rumored NFC chips.
Like the invitation says, the event will be taking a week from now on September 12 at 10 a.m. PDT. We’ll be bringing you all the big announcements from the conference on that day.
