An Indianapolis police officer, Rod Bradway, was killed in the line of duty early Friday morning. Officer Bradway was responding to a domestic disturbance when gunfire broke out. IMPD officials said the suspect was killed at the scene.
Officer Bradway was immediately taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital. Squad cars filled nearby streets, flooding parking lots, as well. Police officials said his family gathered at the hospital along with the officers.
Sadly, Officer Bradway leaves behind a wife and two children.
