The animated comedy Hotel Transylvania has been given its first trailer. If star power can drive a movie this one should be incredibly successful, that is, if Adam Sandler doesn’t ruin it. It stars Adam Sandler, Selena Gomez, Andy Samberg, Kevin James, Steve Buscemi, David spade, Jon Lovitz, Molly Shannon, Cee-Lo Green, Fran Drescher.

Granted, the list does include a lot of Saturday Night Live alumni, but it will be directed by the guy who did Dexter’s Laboratory, Samarai Jack, The PowerPuff Girls, and Star Wars: the Clone Wars, so the animation aspect should be worthy. A lot of 3D animation films fall short when trying to match Pixar and Dreamworks, and normally this one could be thrown in this lot. The addition of director Genndy Tartakovsky could save it.

In the film, Dracula runs a monster resort and lives there with his teen age daughter, who wonders if there is life away from home. A human discovers the resort and falls for Dracula’s daughter Mavis. Dracula becomes over protective and hijinks ensue.
