I’ve never been in a hostage situation, so I really don’t know how I’d react. Who knows? Stress does weird things to people.
One guy who found himself in such a stressful situation decided to deal with it the only way he knew how, I guess.
He took a selfie and posted in on Facebook.
Cameron Schmid was working at a pawn shop in Buffalo, New York, on Thursday when a man walked in and asked to see a shotgun. According to WGRZ, the man then pulled out a shotgun shell and loaded the gun.
What followed was a four-hour standoff with police, which ultimately ended in the gunman taking his own life with the aforementioned shotgun. At some point during the surely tense ordeal (or was it?) Schmid decided to take out his phone, snap a selfie, and post it on Facebook.
“Hostage situation … fun,” he captioned it.
Schimd was one of three pawn shop employees whom were taken hostage. All three were able to emerge unharmed …
… But first, let me take a selfie.
