Ever wonder if there's a magic number for character counts on various social media platforms? How long is the perfect tweet, Facebook status update, or Google+ post? While character count is certainly just one variable when it comes to an effective communication, studies have shown that there are indeed sweet spots.

Buffer and SumAll have an infographic out looking at the ideal length of everything online. This includes various social media posts, as well as paragraphs, blog headlines and posts, domains, hashtags, subject lines, title tags YouTube videos, podcasts, TED Talks, and Slideshare presentations.


There may be no silver bullet for any of these things, but the figures above could give you good goals to shoot for to improve your engagement levels.
