At Sony’s February PS4 event, Capcom announced an interesting new title called Deep Down. For the past year, we only saw a few trailers that didn’t really tell us a lot. Now Capcom has shown off some actual gameplay for the title.
This morning, Capcom shared four minutes of live gameplay from Deep Down at Sony’s press conference in Japan. In it, we see a game that looks a lot like Dark Souls, but with a more involved multiplayer component. We only get to see the multiplayer being shown, but Capcom says it will be playable at Tokyo Game Show later this month.
Interestingly enough, Capcom revealed during the demo that the game takes place in New York in the year 2094. The publisher wouldn’t say anything beyond that so we don’t exactly know why the setting looks to be a medieval dungeon crawler.
We’ll hopefully see more from Deep Down later this month at TGS. It’s definitely one of the most exciting PS4 launch titles announced thus far.
