Harrison Ford may have hung up his hat as Han Solo after The Force Awakens, but the origin story has yet to be told.
In May of 2018 the Han Solo movie will be released and auditions for the young Han Solo are underway.
On Tuesday’s episode of The Ellen Degeneres Show, Harrison Ford was asked if he had any advice for those young men auditioning for Han Solo, to which he replied, “Don’t do it.”
Harrison Ford joked that job security in Hollywood isn’t what it used to be.
He said, “First, it seems like everything’s going swimmingly. And then you spend 25, 30 years and they just let you go. They show you the door. ‘We’re done with you. Thanks very much.'”
Harrison Ford was referring to Han Solo’s offing in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, a fact which he celebrated on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday.
“I argued for 30 years for this to happen and I finally wore them down,” Ford said, revealing that he had been pestering George Lucas to kill off Solo since Return of the Jedi.
Oh, and also Harrison Ford was making the rounds to confirm that he is coming back for another Indiana Jones movie.
He said on Kimmel, “I’m excited about this. The opportunity to work with Steven [Spielberg] again on this character which has brought pleasure to so many, not to mention me. It’s great fun to play this character.”
How exciting!
