Gwen Stefani sat down for an interview with Ellen DeGeneres this week and dodged a lot of questions about her relationship with Blake Shelton, feeding the fire beneath the rumor that the couple split recently due to the constant media scrutiny. At the same time, Gwen’s ex, Gavin Rossdale, was reportedly spotted having lunch with the woman he allegedly cheated with.
According to OK! Magazine, Gavin was seen out and about with the former nanny who took care of their boys. The affair was reportedly discovered by Gwen when photos of the woman appeared on an account shared by the couple, and Gwen quickly made the decision to move on. Her new album, This Is What The Truth Feels Like, is chock full of songs about the breakup of her marriage, and she spoke a bit about it to Ellen.
“It’s unbelievable. About four or five of the songs I just wrote in January. So it’s just really cool to make music and be in real time and share it with everybody and feel everybody’s love and support and energy. It’s just been a magical record,” Stefani said.
Of course, at least one of the songs is about Blake Shelton. “Make Me Love You” was given a live-video treatment during the Grammy Awards earlier this month, allowing Gwen to poke fun of the fact that she and Blake are on the covers of tabloids every day. But that doesn’t mean she wants to talk about it all the time, as she playfully avoided answering Ellen’s questions.
“So let’s talk about Blake,” Ellen said.
“I thought it would be a good idea not to talk about Blake. See what would happen.”
The pop star giggled her way through much of the interview, however, proving that she’s still smitten despite rumors that she and Blake are on the rocks.
