Google announced the launch of a couple new Google Cloud Print tools today to benefit Windows users: Cloud Printer and Cloud Print Service.

The former, Google says, makes it possible to print to any cloud printers from Windows apps like Adobe Reader. The latter runs as a Windows service, so admins can connect existing printers to Cloud Print in their businesses and schools.

The company says it will continue to make printing easier from as many devices as possible. Cloud Print was initially a Chrome project designed to complement the company’s cloud-based operating system Chrome OS. The point was basically to show people that you can carry out day to day computer functions from a cloud-based OS. Obviously printing is an important function.

While it was made for Chrome, it was also designed to be used on any device, OS or browser. It officially launched in January of 2011, and by the following December, six million printers had already connected.

Google recently launched a standalone Android app for Cloud Print, enabling users to print from their Android devices to any connected printer. The app can also be used to print pictures or documents from other apps, and track the status of print jobs.
