Gilmore Girls is coming to Netflix. We all know that by now, because even if you’re not a fan, your social media feeds have most likely been clogged with excited fans of the show doing countdowns to October 1st, Gilmore Girls memes, and various quotes and gifs.
I’m not bitter.
The excitement is completely valid. The show ended too soon for megafans, and the ending was somewhat of a disappointment.
The seventh and last season had to be wrapped up without the show’s genius creators, Amy Sherman-Palladino and Dan Palladino.
Word had it that negotiations with Warner Bros. studios went awry and caused the power duo to walk away. It’s a shame when that kind of thing happens!
Even if you’re not a fan, here is something you might appreciate about the show. Gilmore Girls was a first acting gig or an early presence for some of today’s biggest TV and movie stars.
For example, Saturday Night Live fans may not know that Nasim Pedrad played a waitress in an episode of Gilmore Girls, called “Bridesmaids Revisited”, wherein she serves drunk Rory.
Betcha didn’t know that!
Also, Max Greenfield of New Girl fame was Lucas in a 2003 episode of Gilmore Girls called “Chicken or Beef?” before he was the filthy but lovable Schmidt.

Glee fans would be happy to know that Jane Lynch appeared as a nurse in an episode of Gilmore Girls in 2000 called “Forgiveness and Stuff”. She works at the hospital where Richard Gilmore is treated for a heart attack.

If you remember back to the early 2000s, you’ll know that Ron Swanson was in several episodes of Gilmore Girls! Ok, so he wasn’t Ron Swanson yet, but Nick Offerman was Beau Belleville and he also appeared in a November 2003 episode called “The Festival of Living Art” and an October 2005 episode called “Always a Godmother, Never a God”.
Interesting stuff about Gilmore Girls, right? Who is your favorite nondescript actor-turned-star from Gilmore Girls?
